Professional Structural Engineer
Gilson Engineering is seeking an experienced and motivated Structural Engineer for our Draper Office. We specialize in structural engineering, civil engineering and land surveying. The right person will work with multidisciplinary project teams serving structural, residential, commercial, municipal and developer clients.
You will engage in structural engineering design tasks for a broad spectrum of building projects using industry-standard materials. Preparing structural engineering calculations, coordinating with our in-house CAD department for construction documents, and researching building codes, both State and IBC will help develop your skill sets. In addition, closely coordinating with the internal engineering team to ensure project scheduling milestones and budgets are met.

Minimum Requirements
• Bachelors in Civil Engineering
• Utah Professional Structural Engineer (SE) or Civil Engineer (PE)
• 5 years of Structural Engineering experience minimum, with project management
• Understanding of practical application of structural engineering including applying principles, techniques, and procedures to project design
• Knowledge of structural design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and details
• Basic understanding and knowledge regarding the design of reinforced concrete, steel, and foundation design
• Detailed and quality oriented • Good written and verbal communication skills, for coordination with clients, permits, and other staff members
• Excellent time management skills to ensure project deadlines and budgets are met
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $32.00 – $40.00 per hour

Civil Engineer
Gilson Engineering, Inc. is growing! We are seeking a qualified Civil Engineer candidate to join our team in our Draper, Utah office. Our office works on a variety of projects including all aspects of water resource engineering, environmental, hydraulics, planning, transportation, preconstruction engineering, construction management, surveying, and development. The primary focus of this position is to engineer and design projects as assigned with project management growth opportunities. This position requires an individual with excellent communication skills, an eye for detail and the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies and staff members. The successful candidate will be experienced in all phases of Civil Engineering projects. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering. Minimum 10 years experience in this field. Ability to apply sound engineering principles and be able to communicate engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams. Ability to prepare technical reports Working knowledge of engineering software and tools, CADD experience a must. Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical capabilities. Ability to follow directions, and work independently and in a team setting. Strong communication skills, problem solving and organizational skills. Potential responsibility for project resource management, scheduling, budgets and forecasts and working with external vendors and contractors.
